Bar

We are delighted to offer guests draught Guinness and lager in the comfort of your very own private lounge and bar located in the courtyard. Talk to our staff in the office about ordering your kegs prior to your stay.

BBQ & Catering

A BBQ for a lazy day in the sunshine (recommended for Summer us only) is provided, and catering can also be arranged. There are some super restaurants in the surrounding area also.

On site activities

In terms of activities during your stay, we can recommend activities to take place in the house, its grounds or further afield. Country pursuits such as horse-riding can be done from your doorstep which are highly recommended and great fun including being great photo opportunities for Facebook!

Off site activities

There is plenty to do outside of the house, www.discoverireland.com,www.discoverireland.ie/dublinsdoorstep, www.discoverireland.ie/lakelands www.midirelandtourism.ie,www.westmeathtourism.ie and www.failteireland.com are all packed with information on activities, local attractions etc.

We’re right in the middle of the country so lots of country activities can be arranged within a short distance. Boat hire and coarse fishing in the local lakes of Lough Ennell, Lough Owel and Lough Derravaragh can be arranged, and boat trips up the nearby River Shannon are always popular, particularly during the summer months.

Explore the surrounding towns

The large towns of Mullingar and Athlone are both a 25 minute drive away, and they offer plenty of shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment options as well as hundreds of cultural and historical attractions. The tiny village of Rosemount is just a few minutes away and the country town of Moate is eight miles away in case you need extra provisions, or even a cheeky country pub pint. Pub-wise, there are any amount of pubs of great craic and character on your doorstep. The village of Glasson features several great pub grub options and restaurants and other villages nearby include Castletown-Geoghegan, Kilbeggan, Rathconrath, Streamstown, Ballymore, Horseleap, Dysart, Rathconrath, Loughnavalley and Tyrrellspass.

The Midlands is a great region for festivals throughout the year!
