Bishopstown is a fully-restored and renovated Georgian mansion with a rich equestrian history, Bishopstown combines an old world setting with the best in modern features. In 2006, the house was personally chosen by Michael Jackson (who was living in Coolatore for most of 2006) to be part of his Irish estate. Sadly, the King of Pop never got to live there, but now you can experience its six spacious bedrooms, two large sitting rooms, a dining room with unique round table, a traditional country kitchen, and outdoor patios. The house also features an extensive restored equestrian courtyard, which features two further en-suite bedrooms and a private pub and function room. The pub is totally private and literally a few steps from the main house. It has stout and beer on tap; ideal for parties or any activities.  All guests have use of the indoor heated 45ft spring water swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym located at Grouse Lodge, one mile from Bishopstown. The Midlands has a bountiful list of festivals happening all year round, from arts, sports to heritage. Your stay with us at Bishopstown House can be combined with a visit to a local festival or event to really experience the culture and heritage that surrounds the Midlands region. The Castlepalooza Music and Arts festival in  Charleville Castle Tullamore, County Offaly is always hugely popular with festival goers coming from far and near to experience it’s delights. In previous years the festival has hosted James Vincent McMorrow, First Aid Kit, CSS, Walking on Cars, Le Galaxie and many more Irish and international acts. So break out your wellies and totter up to Charleville Castle this August for a truly unique festival. Visit for more. The triAthlone is the Midlands largest sporting event. Hosted in Athlone, Co Westmeath, this event attracts a host of athletes from Ireland and across the world. It is an amazing spectator event also, with athletes completing a swim, cycle and run as part of the event.
